Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan is an island located in north Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province. This island is one of the islands in the group Gili Islands. It is the largest island between the other two Gili islands. Other islands that stay close are Gili Meno and Gili Air.

In recent years Gili Trawangan is one of the developed tourist destinations in Indonesia. It is popular for diving and relaxing. The island has a beautiful white sand beach and amazing underwater marine life.

There is a population on the island and most are from Lombok and others are from Sulawesi. They are working as fishermen and others in tourism. All the logistics on the island are coming from Lombok and some from Bali.

Getting to Gili Trawangan from Bali and Lombok

The only best access to get to the Gili Trawangan island is using a boat from Lombok or Bali. The boat from Lombok departs from Bangsal and Teluk Nare. You can use a speed boat or a local outrigger boat.

If you use a slow boat from Bangsal, it will take about 30 minutes to get to Gili, meanwhile, if you use a speed boat from Teluk Nare, it will take approximately 10 minutes. The speed boat to Gili is based on a private so it will let you leave at the time you want. Meanwhile, the slow boat from Bangsal will depart where there are 20 people.

Fast boat from Bali to Gili Trawangan is one of the popular transportation to get to Gili Trawangan. The fast boat offers a daily departure from Padang Bai, Sanur, and Serangan. There is also a boat from Nusa Penida to Gili or from Nusa Lembongan. They offer daily departure to the island.

The fast boat to Gili will spend approximately 1 1/2 hours from Padang Bai and 2 1/2 hours from Sanur and Serangan. Meanwhile from Nusa Penida and Lembongan to Gili Trawangan will take approximately 2 hours.
